How to Register to Vote

Voter Registration FAQs

Q. What is the deadline to register before the next election?

A. Deadline to register is October 10, 2022.  You can turn completed forms into the county clerks office in the county in which you are registering or mail it through the campus post office (located in the Young Building, next to the bookstore).  If you are just changing your current registration to a new address, it must be received no later than 4 days prior to the next election.

Q. If Im registered in my hometown in another county or state, can I transfer my registration to my college address?

A. Yes.  Fill out the voter registration form with your campus current address and fill out the portion at the bottom indicating your former address.  You must keep your address CURRENT on your registration.  You can only register to vote in one location.

Q. I live on-campus in a residence hall.  Which address should I use?

A.  If you wish to vote in Pope County, in the section marked “Address Where You Live”, use the physical address of the residence hall in which live.  In the section marked, “Address Where You Receive Mail…”, use your campus mailbox address or another address where you might receive mail.  If you plan to return home for election day or early voting and vote in your local elections, use your permanent home address.

Q. Am I registered to vote when I send in my voter registration form?

A. No, submitting your voter application at a state agency, in a voter registration drive or through the U.S. Postal Service does NOT guarantee your registration. Before considering yourself a registered voter, you must receive an acknowledgment of your registration from the county clerk—this is done by receiving your voter registration card.  You can also check your status at: https://www.voterview.org

Q. How do I know where to go on Election Day to vote?

A. Visit https://www.voterview.org for polling locations, ballots, election dates, and voter registration lookup.

Q. Can I register online?

A. No.  Arkansas residents must fill out the voter registration form and either mail it to the Secretary of State or turn it into the county clerks office.

Voter Registration Online

Arkansas does not currently offer voter registation online. However, the forms are available online for you to download, print, and mail.  The Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center, the County Clerk's Office, and public libraries also have forms available and can help answer any questions you might have about the forms.
