Purpose: offer a glimpse of other cultures and ways of life. A movie is a fantastic immersive medium to experience how other societies live and function. The festival is an extension to the language courses and a way to enjoy talented actors and directors from around the world. The aim of the festival is to foster an open-minded global cultural identity.
Sponsors: the library and the English and World Languages Department. Also registered as an OnTrack event.
Venue: the festival is hosted in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall whose sound and projection systems were recently upgraded.
Organizers: Dr. Nelson Ramìrez, Associate Professor of Spanish, Coordinator of World Languages, Dr. Lowell Lybarger, multimedia librarian and instructor of music, and Philippe Van Houtte, systems librarian and instructor of French select movies. Philippe created the artwork, promotional items, and website.
