About the Video Lab
A state-of-the-art maker-space for video capture, still photography, post-production, and virtual/mixed reality.  
The Video Lab offers many tools for visual projects, including:

Hardware

  • Greenscreen
  • Photography Lighting
  • Oculus 2 VR Headset & Gloves
  • Vive VR Headset & Gloves
  • Selfie Stands
  • 4k Video Camera
  • Windows 10 computers, Three monitors

Software

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (including Adobe Premiere, After Effects)
  • Vegas Pro 19
  • Davinci Resolve 17
  • OBS Studio
Reservation and Use Guidelines
Reservation Guidelines
  • Reservations can be made one week (seven days) in advance.
  • 3-hour periods are available for reservation.
  • Limit 1 reservation per day (by the same person) unless the following 3-hour slot is open.
  • Arrive no later than 15 minutes after your reservation start time.
  • After 15 minutes, the room becomes available to other users.
  • Cancel reservations ASAP if your plans change so others can reserve the space.
  • The library reserves the right to change your reservation. This is very rare; should this happen, we will contact you with as much notice as possible.
  • No shoes allowed on the greenscreen floor (to keep it clean).  
  • Reserve the Video Lab.
Use Guidelines
  • Current ATU ID must be presented at the door, which will be checked by the Lab Assistant on duty.
  • ATU students receive priority access, followed by faculty, and then staff.
  • Audio-Visual projects are the only projects allowed; you will be required to demonstrate your work to the Lab Assistant on duty.
  • No food or drink allowed.
  • All recording and computer equipment must stay in the ATU Video Lab and will be accounted for.
  • Staff are not responsible for personal items that are lost or stolen.
  • The Libraries' Code of Conduct applies to all library spaces, including the ATU Video Lab.
Video Projects
Greenscreen with Chromakey Techniques
Use our immersive greenscreen for video and still photography and apply chromakey background replacement.  Book a time with our staff to learn how to perform this popular technique in Photoshop, Premiere, Gimp, Vegas Pro or Davinci Resolve.   
Video Capture and Post-Production
The powerful video editing software available at the Video Lab will provide more than enough possibilities for your next creative project.  From video podcasts to full-scale documentaries, all that you need is available.  You provide the creativity and practice.
Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality
Take your pick of VR headset and gloves and have fun!  Our staff will teach you the basics if you have never used VR before.
