The Contra Dances continue to be hosted at the Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville on the Second Saturdays of the month from 7pm - 9pm.
An old-time contra dance, sometimes referred to as a barn dance, is an informal country dance stemming from such dances in 17th century Western Europe. It has evolved just as the old-time music has. Traditionally this type of dance features live musicians playing fiddle tunes. Each dance is taught before its done.
Old-Time Jams are back too! 
3rd Thursdays 4pm - 6pm of the month at BazTech Room 202 on the campus of Arkansas Tech University. Jams are open to all acoustic instruments and all levels of musicians are WELCOME!
What's an Old-Time jam?
A group of people playing traditional tunes on acoustic instruments. Each musician starts a song of their choice and others play along. Old-timey music can mean different things. This group tends to play a lot of fiddle tunes that are played at contra dances. We welcome songs of all kinds.
Needleturn Applique with Sindy Devereux
This hand-quilting workshop will demonstrate the needle-turn applique method for sewing a decorative fabric onto a quilt top. This class will be taught by Sindy Devereux.
Hand-quilting workshop with Sindy Devereux - Kits will be provided to learn the basics involved in traditional hand-quilting.
Make sure you bring a thimble. Bring a needle if you have a favorite. Basic needles will be provided in the kit that comes with the class. If you have a project of your own to bring you are welcome to do so. 
Quilting Workshop with Sindy Devereux
Sindy will teach us how two make a 3D bo-tie block using traditional hand-piecing methods.
Free but registration is required.

Spin-in Ozarks Fiber Group
The group will spend the day spinning yarn and processing fibers from raw state to finished pieces. This is a FREE event and is open to the public. You may come and watch or bring your things to spin, weave, crochet, or knit along.
