Jim Yeager, a native of Ozark, Arkansas, has released a new book on baseball in rural Arkansas. Yeager's book, Backroads and Ballplayers, features more than 50 stories and biographical chapters on the lives of professional baseball players from rural Arkansas, including individuals from the River Valley area, the mountains of North Arkansas, and the Delta farmland.
Yeager, who makes his home in Russellville and Perryville with his wife Susan, has BS and MS degrees in history and education from the University of Central Arkansas. He is the former Women's Basketball Coach at Arkansas Tech University. He is semi-retired having spent more than forty years as a coach, teacher, guidance counselor and educational technology specialist.
