Purpose
The Student Library Advisory Council is a diverse group of students who help improve Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center by meeting with the librarians to provide their perspectives regarding policies, services, programs, collections, and library spaces.
Benefits for Students
Serving on the Council is a great way to meet other students interested in libraries, get involved with campus community, and establish a record of service to help in applying for future jobs and graduate school. Plus, you will help be the student voice shaping the library for the students.
Added bonus: Free food at every meeting.
How It Works
The Student Library Advisory Council will meet on a monthly basis with library faculty and staff. Members of the Council may be asked to take surveys, test-drive new library tools and databases, review policies, and give honest and open feedback on what they want their library to be for them. They will have the chance to learn first-hand knowledge of upcoming programs and new services and collections. Each member will also be able to select new books for the library throughout the semester.
