What is a
?
A
is a
Guided
Individual
Brainstorm at the
Library through
Serendipity. It is pronounced "gi.buls".
A
is a simple and easy way to discover the library building and its physical content through an unconventional and fun activity delivering unexpected thinking from accidental discovery of unsuspected library items.
A
ends with some (very limited) writing. The ultimate experience of serendipity!
NOTE: a
is
not a full-blown instruction session. If you wish to have your class participate in a full library instruction session, visit the
Library Instruction Request page.
Who and When?
Any student is welcome at any date and time a
is listed on the
Library Events Calendar.
Where?
Come to RPL-129 (Tech Learning Center Collaborative Work Room, see
map) and Philippe, the
Master, will introduce the activity with a quick library building and website tour.
How Does It Work?
The participant picks up a
card. The card will tell them how to retrieve a library item. Then, they will write 20-30 words about the item (Twitter like) on the back of the card.
The student's name, card number, date and time of visit, and instructor name will be collected and shared with the instructor by email. The participant will keep the card.
